Victims Services gives a voice to victims of crime in the justice system. We look to minimize the inconvenience and trauma of the process for victims. Victim Services can help to make sure your concerns and questions are answered quickly and compassionately. Fort Simpson Victim Services program has been offered in the community since 2006.

Victim Services Program Mandate
Victim Services offer support, assistance, information and referrals in a courteous and compassionate manner that respects the dignity and privacy of victims of crime and tragedy.
Victim Services can provide:
- Information-what to expect in court and when testifying, updates on court outcome, safety planning, ODARA (risk assessment tool).
- Assistance-in completing applications for VCEF (Victims of Crime Emergency Funding), VIS (Victim Impact Statements), Victim Notification Registry (provided victim with Federal offender status, hearings, etc.).
- Referrals-to community counselling, shelters, other community resources that may be beneficial to you.
- Support-emotional, attending court and liaison with Public Prosecution/Crown Witness Coordinators, accompaniment to RCMP/Health Centre.
Fort Simpson Victim Services is located in the Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation Band Office.

Monday – Friday
9AM – 5PM
The Victim Support Worker is on-call 24 hours a day, should a victim require immediate support or health center accompaniment.
